Ingredients
- No-Stick Cooking Spray
- 6 ounces maple flavored roll sausage
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 4 tablespoons Hungry Jack® Original Syrup, divided
- 1 1/2 cups Hungry Jack® Complete Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix (Just Add Water)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation Instructions
- HEAT oven to 400°F. Coat 12 muffin cups with no-stick cooking spray.
- COOK sausage and green onion in large skillet over medium heat until sausage is browned and crumbled. Stir in pecans and 2 tablespoons syrup. Cook and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat.
- STIR pancake mix, salt and pepper in large bowl until blended. Stir in milk and egg until evenly moistened. Stir in cheese and sausage mixture until blended. Divide evenly into prepared muffin cups. Bake 14 to 17 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack.
- BEAT butter, remaining 2 tablespoons syrup and cinnamon, if desired, until smooth. Serve with warm muffins.
